Took some time this evening for a 40-ish mile drive through the countryside. It’s still astonishing to me how a 30-year-old bare bones economy car can be such a joy to own, drive, and tinker with.
She was cranky at being started for the first time in almost three months, but she fired on up.
Also, this is serenity to me. The rural Kentucky landscape sunset . This photo was taken this evening in a tiny church’s parking lot about 10-15 miles from my house.

Yes! I was in rural Tennessee this week. Beautiful!
And I drove my grandfather’s Ford Ranger helping him move today (not in Tennessee) .
100k and oil changes every 5k since new. The best you’re likely to find (but auto though). Didn’t even seem any wheezier or slower or sloppier than usual hauling a bunch of heavy boxes and a massive dresser.
